A meeting is organised at the headquarters of the National Park, a large table is covered with maps and coffee cups. Kenny Auld the lead access Officer recommends we visit Duncryne (an isolated hill known locally in Gartocharn as ‘The Dumpling’) which lines up perfectly with a tiny ruined chapel up Glen Luss. The line between the two forming a perfect cross with the faultline.

However you look at Loch Lomond you can’t get away from the importance of the Highland Boundary fault, its physical presence running from Ben Bowie to Conic hill and how it has effected and shaped the history of Scotland.
