February 2013

Mid October 2012, slightly weary from delivering ‘Speed of light’ in Edinburgh we set off to get a handle on the landscape of Loch Lomond. Climbing Ben Lomond and looking south we discussed the sheer scale of the setting, its constantly changing nature and how very little of what caught your eye was land. The islands at the southern end appeared as holes in the Loch and sky. Then suddenly it all disappeared as cloud came in and enveloped us.

Heading back down we came closer to the ridge of Conic Hill with the islands of Inchcailloch, Torrinch, Creinch and Inchmurrin to our left describing the line of the Highland boundary fault to our right. We decide to focus on the islands and explore in more detail
